Bern
The Swiss administrative capital and four most populous Swiss city, Bern, is 86 km away from Gstaad. Bern is a thriving city with many tourist attractions. Most of the buildings in the city center date from medieval times, which is why UNESCO has declared this area a World Heritage site. Among the famous sights in Bern is the Zytglogge, a medieval clock tower with puppets in motion. Other landmarks include the 15th century Gothic cathedral, a 15th century town hall, the century-old building housing Parliament and several administrative departments and the Garden of Roses, offering panoramic views of the medieval city center.
Montreux
Montreux, 64 km away from Gstaad, boasts a beautiful lakeside promenade extending from Villeneuve to Vevey. The main square features a statue of Freddie Mercury looking in the direction of Lake Geneva. You can reach Chillon Castle, a historical attraction in the area, very easily by bus, boat or on foot from here. The town of Montreux never sleeps. The maximum speed is 15 km/h, which requires serious pedal pushing, but the reward will be the refreshingly cool spray in your face.
Lake Brienz
Lake Brienz is located in the Swiss canton of Bern to the north of the Alps. There are no shallow ends in the lake and the shores are very steep. The river Aare flows through, joining Lake Thun after leaving Lake Brienz. Lake Brienz has an unforgettable natural setting. Interlaken
The charming town nestles between the lakes Thun and Brienz. It is this situation that has given its name, which means between lakes. It is 70 km away from Gstaad. The town was built on the foundations of a convent, which existed from 1130 to 1528. Interlaken is a favorite holiday destination in both summer and winter. It was granted official status as a ski resort when its Jungfrau Top Ski Region was introduced. This terrain covered over 160 km of ski runs, all connected to the town via mountain rail. The trails have an average length of 6-12 km, which means that you will be able to ski down different slopes and areas every day for a full week.
Grindelwald
Grindelwald, 88 km away from Gstaad, is one of the resorts in the world-renowned Swiss Jungfrau region, which offers spectacular scenery and a long ski season. There are many prestigious ski schools in the area and 211 km of runs, some reaching to an altitude of 3000 m. There are suitable runs for skiers of all levels. There are 114 red runs, 65 blue runs, and 34 black runs. The resort offers access to snow parks and half-pipes, so snowboarders dont feel left out.
