Adelboden is a municipality in the Bernese highlands. It has around 4 000 inhabitants. This charming village comprises the inhabited valleys of Gilbach, Stigelschwand, Ausserschwand, Boden and Hirzboden. The peak in the area is the Grossstrubel with elevation of 3 242 m. Thanks to its high altitude, wide variety of runs and safe snow conditions, Adelboden-Frutigen is considered among the best Swiss ski resorts. It offers over 170 km of slopes, making it one of the biggest and most beautiful skiing centres of the Swiss Alps. The runs are of varied degrees of difficulty. There are also cross country skiing trails and the world cup giant slalom run on the Kuonisbärgli.
