Driving from Bern:
Bern is set at a distance of 71 km from the village.
On exiting Bern, take A1/E25 /E27 to proceed for a stretch to A6, and then take the exit 18 towards Kandersteg, Adelboden, Spiez. At Spiez, going straight, take Frutigenstrasse, then, after passing by Frutigen, take Loetschbergstrasse, and take Staatsstrasse at Bifigen to arrive in Kandersteg.


Driving from Milan:
The village is located at a distance of 223 km from Milan.
On leaving Milan, continue along Viale Enrico Fermi to take Viale Rubicone towards A4/A8/A9 to head towards E66/Milano/Venezia towards Torino.
Then, take A4/E64 towards E62/A8/E35/A9 to take A8 towards A26/Genova/Gravellona Toce.
Take A8DIR/E62 towards Gravellona Toce to exit towards Sempione/Confine di Stato.
Then, from E62/Autostrada Dei Trafori, take SS33/E62 to enter Switzerland.
At the roundabout, from A9/E62, take the first exit to continue on 9/E62.
Then, after crossing Bahnhoffstrasse, Hohtennstrasse, Loetschbergstrasse, Goppenstein, continue straight on to get a train link shortly taking you to Kanderssteg.


Driving from Geneve (Geneva):
The village is set at a distance of 225km from Geneve and is reachable within 02h33' by car.
On leaving Geneve, take Route de Meyrin at Chatelaine to exit the city and turn right to continue for 158 km on A1/E25.
From there, head towards Exit 17/Bern/Neuchatel/Simplon/Grand-Saint-Bernard/Lausanne-Nord/Lausanne-Crissier.
Close to Yverdon-Les-Bains, head towards Exit 37/Interlaken/Tun/Bern-Wankdorf/BEA expo and close to Bern, take A6 for 36 km.
On nearing Thun, take the Exit 18/Interlaken/Kandersteg/Spiez and take A8 close to Einigen.
At Spiez, continue straight on Frutigenstrasse to take Hauprtstrasse at Muelenen. Then, take Loetschbergstrasse for 4 km and then, at Bifigen, take Staatsstrasse for 9 km to arrive in Kandersteg.


From Zurich airport:
At a distance of 187 km via Bern, which can be covered in 02h13'.
From the airport, continue straight to take Flughafenstrasse and then turn left towards Zurich/Winterthur/Glattbrugg to take A51.
From there, head towards exit 63/E41/Bern/Basel/Nordring-Zurich to take A1 for 119 km and head towards Bern/Basel/Dietikon/A3 to take Exit 37 towards Interlaken/Thun/Bern-Ostring/Bern-Wankdorf.
After that, take A6 for 37 km to take Exit 18/Interlaken/Kandersteg/Spiez.
On nearing Einingen, take A8.
At Spiez, continue straight on Frutigenstrasse.
At Muelenen, take Hauptstrasse and pass by Frutigen after taking Loetschbergstrasse.
At Bifigen, take Staatstrasse and go on straight to arrive in Kandersteg.


Driving from Munich:
The village is located at a 493 km distance from Munich International Airport. Getting there should take approximately 05h10'.
Exit Munich via Donnersbergerbruecke to take B2R for 3 km and then turn right to take E54 towards Stuttgart/Lindau for 138 km.
Then, take B18/E43/E54 for 9 km and passing close to Waltershofen, take the exit towards a96/Wangen-West.
After 200m on E43/E54, take A96/E43 for 25 km.
On entering Austria, switch to A14 and close to Bregenz, take Exit 18 towards sankt Gallen/CH/Lustenau to take B204/Dorbirner Strasse / Lustenauer-Bundestrasse and continue along B203 / Rhein-Bundestrasse at the roundabout.
At B204/Lustenauer-Bundesstrasse turn left to exit Lustenau.
After entry into Swiss, continue straight on for 300m and turn right on A13/E43 for 3 km.
Then, take the exit towards A1/Rheineck for 223 km.
On passing close to Zurich, head towards Bern/Basel/Flughafen and Bern/Basel/Dietikon/A3.
Take Exit 17 towards Interlaken/Thun/Bern-Ostring/Bern-Wankdorf.
Passing close to Bern, take the A6 Exit 18 towards Interlaken/Kandersteg/Spiez and then, on A8, take the exit towards kandersteg/Adelboden/Frutigen.
At Spiez, go on Frutigenstrasse. At Muelenen, take Hauptstrasse and pass by Frutigen after taking Loetschbergstrasse.
At Bifigen, take Staatstrasse and continue straight to arrive in Kandersteg.


By Rail:
With railway stations conveniently located within Geneva and Zurich airports, Kandersteg is easily reachable by train from Geneva and Zurich, usually including one change at Bern. Basel airport offers an airport shuttle bus, linking the airport to Basel train station, from where direct trains run to Kandersteg. The Kandersteg railway station has Intercity and EuroCity connections on an hourly basis. It is possible to buy a Swiss transfer ticket between any Swiss airport and Kandersteg, but it must be obtained before departing for Switzerland.
