Klosters
Klosters is a municipality situated in the canton of Grisons, eastern Switzerland, counting approximately 3 900 inhabitants. Its renowned ski resort lies 150 km from Zurich, the nearest international airport. Transfer time is about 2 hours. Instantly recognizable to Britons as the favoured winter resort of Prince Charles, Klosters – about 9km northeast of Davos – steals quite a march on its neighbour in terms of atmosphere. Whereas Davos has traffic, concrete multistorey hotels, bright lights and street bustle, Klosters has peace and calm, a cosy huddle of dark-wood chalets and a village ambience. Furthermore, it’s linked to Davos’s renowned Parsenn ski slopes, and both share a lift pass covering each other’s pistes as well as common mountain transport.

The Davos-Klosters region is a paradise for skiing, carving and snowboarding. Modern transport systems give access to 6 extensive winter sport areas with a total of over 300 km of slopes. Ski facilities include:

- 55 transport facilities such cable cars, lifts, etc.
- Transport capacity of 62,000 persons per hour
- 110 marked slopes – of which 20% easy, 40% medium, 40% difficult – -besides, 40 km of snow-covered slopes
- 12 km ski run (provided that snow conditions be good) from Weissfluhgipfel to Küblis with a 2,034 m altitude difference.
- Night skiing on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Selfranga lift
- Snow paradise for the kids: on Madrisa, Pischa and Rinerhorn
- 105 km of prepared cross-country ski trails, including dog and night trails in Davos and Klosters.
- Skiing, snowboarding and cross-country schools and, if you are not tired of winter sports, take advantage of the numerous indoor swimming, golf, tennis, ice skating, ice hockey, fitness and wellness possibilities. Also, visit the Klosters’s museum “Nutli Hüschi” It is notable not only for its valuable exhibits, but also because of the possibility to admire a typical 16th century Prättigau farmhouse both from inside and out. Other sights worth visiting are St. Jacob’s Church and the old corn mill in Rohr.
