Visitors to Laax will have access to 220 km of well-maintained, largely intermediate slopes. The resort is a popular weekend destination and has invested in a number of high-capacity lift facilities, among which a jumbo gondola. Laax is virtually unknown outside of Germany and Switzerland, a fate it is undeserving of. Intermediates who love a challenge will enjoy the lengthy runs from the nearby mountaintops, lying amid fabulous scenery. The lifts are practically queue-free on weekdays. Most of the slopes are above 2000 m, and there are plenty of wooded pistes for poor-weather days. Another advantage is Laax’s proximity to Zurich airport – it is just an hour and a half away.
