Pontresina is a picturesque village situated in the Upper Engandine valley, only 6 km from St. Moritz, in the Canton of Graubünden. It lies in Val Bernina, which is the highest altitude valley branching off of the Upper Engadin Valley.
Pontresina has preserved all the charm of an old Engadine village but still exudes specific youth and vitality, especially during winter when one encounters the dozens of the young snowboarders on the slopes.
The ski region of the Upper Engadine is without a match: 58 fast, modern ski lifts service 350
km of prepared trails which offer a wide choice of descent for all levels of ability. For cross-country skiers 180 km of trails cut the countryside of the Upper Engadine as well as the adjoining romantic valleys of Bever, Fex and Roseg.
Pontresina also offers a first class ski school providing lessons for groups and individuals alike, as well as many activities for kids.
Among the other skiing facilities are heli-skiing on the glaciers and in the high mountains, as well as a halfpipe for snowboarders.
One can also take a romantic carriage ride in the enchanting Val Roseg or enjoy the diversionary pleasures of the pathways and lanes in the invigorating, fresh mountain air.
And, if you are not tired, you can take advantage of the numerous in-door entertainment opportunities offered by almost all the hotels in the village, including discos, live music concerts as well as numerous sports activities (golf, swimming, fitness, tennis, etc.) and games for the children.
