Sedrun lies on the western edge of the scenic canton of Graubünden and is one of the two villages situated on the Rhine River and surrounded by the magnificent Oberalp Mountains. This is a wonderful place to escape from busy everyday life and to indulge into a world of tranquility and natural beauty. Sedrun and Disentis date back to the 7th Century and boast an ancient monastery, as well as a folk museum, where you can learn more about the local customs and the region’s past. Summer activities
In summer the verdant meadows, alpine summits and age-old forests will encourage you to put on your hiking shoes and explore the scenic mountains. There are diverse routes you can follow, admiring the gorgeous scenery and beautiful lakes. Mountain biking and cycling will let you enjoy the magnificent panorama alongside the river, through the hills covered with greenery. Activities such as climbing, paragliding and riding reveal in front of you more of this picturesque area. There is also a chance to play tennis and golf in town.
Winter activities
Ski terrain of 110 kilometres of pistes, as well as ideal off-piste trails and cross-country tracks draw the overall picture of winter activities. 60 percent of the ski pistes is meant for intermediate skiers and snowboarders, 30 percent is suitable for beginners and the remaining 10 percent is an adventurous ski area for experts. The longest run has length of 12 kilometres and 22 lifts, providing excellent transportation system, capable of serving more than 26,000 people per hour over the pistes. There is a half-pipe for snowboarders and a backcountry terrain for enthusiasts of this adventure, whereas cross-country skiers are granted 35 kilometres of special trails. Sedrun offers very good rates for the lift passes and reductions in the beginning and end of each skiing season, thus attracting tourists from December to April. Winter in Sedrun is also the ideal for ice skating, curling and horse-drawn sleigh riding.

Great après-ski options include visiting friendly restaurants serving Swiss and German typical dishes, bars and a discotheque. The region of Sedrun-Disentis boasts valuable natural resources such as minerals and gems, which are part of collection in the local museum "La Truaisch."
