Engelberg is a municipality in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland, located at an altitude of 1020 metres. It has 3600 inhabitants. It is the most famous winter resort in central Switzerland. Engelberg offers excursions to the highest peak in central Switzerland – a station at an altitude of 3028 m, located just beneath the peculiarly shaped Titlis mountain. Attractions in Engelberg include a large Benedictine monastery and many glamorous, beautifully designed hotels. The resort offers blue, red and black ski runs in the regions Brunni and Titlis – Joch Pass. The slope network extends for 82 km in total. The runs are located in the range of 1000 and 3000 meters of elevation.
