It is a true paradise for skiers, as the resort offers excellent snow cover 365 days a year. Over 313 km of ski runs provide unbeatable experience during winter, but skiing is possible also in summer with 20km of ski pistes available. The ski arena spreads out to Italy and includes slopes for all kind of abilities and various styles of skiing. Snowboarders will be happy to find various facilities at the Gravity Park in the Matterhorn glacier featuring jumps, half pipes, kickers and rails at fans’ disposal almost the whole year round. Adventure-seekers and panoramas-adherents can discover the beautiful summits at 4 000m of altitude alone or with a mountain guide. In case you are a beginner and prefer to learn more before hitting the slopes, there are ski and snowboard schools, as well as instructors providing private lessons.
Summer activities
Summer as well is a good season to take a trip and get closer to Matterhorn, the peak of all peaks standing at 4 500m above sea level. 400km of hiking trails will lead you to magnificent spots around Zermatt, passing across the glaciers and along charming alpine lakes. Mountain cable cars will lift you up to reach the highest trails and continue your way on. The Zermatt Alpine Centre will organize for you a guided trip, including a visit to the glacier. You can stop by in some of the cosy alpine restaurants and indulge into the splendid atmosphere, having a delicious meal and drink.

The village has interesting attractions such as exhibition galleries and the Matterhorn Museum which tells you the story of the mountain and Zermatt itself.
